When I started to workout some people said things like, “You look just fine or you’re skinny already!” Others claimed I will get bulky, not to mention that fitness is not for women. After three months of training I was pronounced too thin, too pale, seriously sick and even close to anorexic, just because my body reshaped. I didn’t take these words to heart because I knew what the truth is and why I decided to workout.
I believe it’s quite difficult not to care what other people say. Some people just learned how to care less. However, I don’t think there is a person out there who would not really care what others think. Everyone wants to be loved and accepted.
If there is one thing that I’ve learned over the years it’s that you cannot please everyone. No matter how hard you try, someone is always going to dislike you or something that you do. You can’t control what other people think, but you can control how you react and feel. I still care what other people think, we all do. But I don’t let other people’s opinions of me determine what I do and don’t do or what I can or can’t do.
I love being fit, strong and healthy… It is daily exercise and healthy eating that make me look better and feel better about myself, not to mention it feels so good to put your mind to something and achieve it.
So just be you. Be confident in your actions and keep pushing to get where you are headed – no matter what others say. Grab a mat, a towel and a bottle of water and get moving towards your goal. There will always be doubters and negative comments. Don’t let them drag you down or stop you for pursuing your dreams.
Have a lovely Sunday!
