John Wooden said, “Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” This is a great thought for all of us on this weight loss journey. Sometimes we spend way to much time focusing on what we can’t do that we ignore what we are able to do. We shouldn’t let things that seem difficult and hard to do prevent us from completing whatever it is that we can do.
So let’s see what we CAN DO when it comes to weight-loss.
Things you can control: Carvings for food, portion size plate, what you eat and drink, how often you workout, how you deal with stress and how well you take care of yourself each day.
Forget about what you can’t control. You can’t do anything about the things that may make it more difficult to lose weight, but you can focus on two things that will help reach your goal: clean eating and daily exercise. Remember that cardio, weight training and healthy eating are three crucial components to losing fat.
All in all, always focus on your abilities instead of your disabilities. Concentrate on the results you are getting, such as getting stronger, feeling more energetic, running longer, lifting heavier, losing inches around your waist…
