Friday Motivation: Let’s remind ourselves that there is no such thing as magic supplement, weight-loss pill, or fad diet. The only way to get rid of weight is to exercise daily and consume less calories than you burn. Have in mind that diet doesn’t mean starvation or deprivation it just means eating healthy. And HEALTHY means giving your body only what it needs when it needs it. Exercise doesn’t mean you have to join a gym and spend there two hours. To burn fat, you should exercise at least thirty minutes every day including weekends, adding some resistance training exercises (weight lifting) each week as well. That will raise your metabolism and shape your body. Muscle burns more calories than fat, so the more muscle you have, the more calories you’ll burn all day long. Don’t be afraid of weight lifting…you won’t get bulky.
Focus on the process of losing weight slowly and changing your habits. Losing weight slowly means you’ve had time to adopt new behaviors, like eating healthy and exercising more.
Amy Cotta says “If you want to win at this fitness thing – and in the game of life in general – you have to learn to overcome the obstacles and setbacks. You can’t give up or give in every time something doesn’t go your way.”
My dear Readers, we all experience setbacks when it comes to training and staying in shape. In fact, it is quite impossible that you’re going to achieve any goals without a few setbacks. They may slow you down but don’t let them keep you from moving forward. The best thing to do is to acknowledge, examine and learn from them then focus on the POSITIVE. Remember tomorrow is a chance to start over and do it right.
I wish all of you a very happy and productive Friday!
