It Is Okay To Have a Cheat Day

It Is Okay To Have a Cheat Day

QUESTION: Have I just ruined my weight loss?
I didn’t have breakfast, I ate crap between meals and yesterday evening I took a long romantic walk to my fridge and ate a bowl full of ice cream and for “dessert” I had pizza left overs…

“Think of pushing a car up a hill. If it slips a little bit, you catch it and keep pushing. You haven’t ruined to much of your progress. If it slips and you let it slide, you’ll have to go back down the hill and start all over again.
It’s the same with weight loss. Accept the tiny slip and keep on pushing. It’s one slip and will not ruin the entire progress. Why climb the same hill twice?”

One day will not ruin your diet. It is putting those days together, one after the other, that can break your success. Just take a deep breath, recognize that you fell off the wagon, don’t dwell on it and get back on track. It is permitted to have one cheat day a week where you allow yourself to eat foods that don’t fit into your weight-loss plan. Aim to stick to your healthy diet 90 percent of the time and everything will be just fine.
To lead a happy and healthy life, you need to leave room in your life for occasional steps outside the bounds. 🙂

Dear Reader, I wish you a rosy day!
