Remember that changes usually come slowly, so it can be hard to see them.

That’s why always concentrate on how far you’ve come, rather than how far you still have to go.

We focus on the number inside our jeans rather than the number on the barbell.

We place all our focus on the outside and what OTHER people think, rather than how we feel and who we are becoming!

Instead of focusing on the weight on the scale going down, focus on the weight on the barbell going up!

John Wooden said, “Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” This is a great thought for all of us on this weight loss journey.

Sometimes we spend way too much time focusing on what we can’t do that we ignore what we can do.

We shouldn’t let things that seem difficult and hard to do prevent us from completing whatever it is that we can do.

So let’s see what we CAN DO when it comes to weight loss.

Things you can control: Carvings for food, portion size plate, what you eat and drink, how often you workout, how you deal with stress, and how well you take care of yourself each day.

Forget about what you can’t control.

You can’t do anything about the things that may make it more difficult to lose weight, but you can focus on two things that will help reach your goal: clean eating and daily exercise.

Remember that cardio, weight training, and healthy eating are three crucial components to losing fat.

All in all, always focus on your abilities instead of your disabilities.

Concentrate on the results you are getting, such as getting stronger, feeling more energetic, running longer, lifting heavier, and losing inches around your waist.

Weight loss can get frustrating I know, but stay consistent and patient and do your best with your exercise and diet.

Focus on what you want, not what you don’t want, and arrange your life so that your surroundings move you in the direction of your goals.

If your goal is to lose weight and get fit, empty your fridge and cabinets of sugary snacks salty processed junk food, and soft drinks.

Clean out the pantry and stock up on healthy nutritious foods that will jump-start your weight loss path to a healthier, fitter you.

Create a personal weight loss inspiration board. The purpose of it is to motivate you and remind you of your goals.

Select pictures that inspire you, and quotes that you can connect with, and pin them on the board. Use bright, eye-catching colors.

Place an inspiration board somewhere where you will see it daily and be inspired by its content.

Educate yourself. Look for resources on healthy weight loss. A local library can be a great place to start.

Find websites that contain information, stories, workout videos, and weight loss programs that work for you.

But most importantly surround yourself with those that have similar goals and people who will support and encourage you on your journey.
