Change Takes Time
“Do you remember the story about the tortoise and the hare? The hare took off quickly and seemed sure to win the race, but the tortoise kept moving steadily toward the finish line and was able to cross it first. Why am I reminding you of this old story? Because the most important thing I’ve learned this year is that slow and steady is the best strategy. To reach your weight-loss goals, you need to switch from the hare’s mind-set to that of the tortoise. Do you start diets determined to completely avoid temptation and work out seven days a week, only to fall off the wagon and give up hope? Such an approach can be very appealing for the first few days, but when you skip a workout or give in to temptation (something we all do), you’re more likely to throw in the towel. I know because I used to do exactly this…” – Stacy Garay
Hello, dear Reader! My grandma used to say that slow and steady wins the race. When it comes to weight loss small changes take off big pounds. So it doesn’t matter if the progress is slow as long as you reach your goal. Remember that permanent change takes time, effort, lots of patience – and a lifelong commitment.
Wishing you a rosy Wednesday! 🙂
