Being healthy and fit is about more than just seeing the right number on the scale or fitting into your favorite jeans. Good health and physical fitness have powerful effects on your entire life. They will help you feel better about yourself, accomplish your goals, fulfill your intentions, and change for the better in innumerable other ways. ~ Tony Horton
Sundays are a day where I do a lot of thinking. I like to take time to reflect on the past week and prepare for a new one. I think it’s important for us to do, so take a moment today for yourself. Go for a walk or run or ride your bike and do it without headphones. Take the time to evaluate where you are, where you want to be, and make a plan as to how you will get there! Being strong on the outside begins with our desires and the decisions that we make! ~ Marsha Tieken Christensen
Are you living a life of mediocrity by hiding behind when’s and then’s?
I will do _____________ WHEN I reach a certain weight, WHEN I feel more confident I will do_______, WHEN I have more self-esteem I will do________. WHEN I reach a certain size/shape I will be pretty/good enough.
Or I will lose 20lbs and THEN I will do ___________. I will become more outgoing and THEN I will do __________.
For me it was just fear rearing it’s ugly head again. This unknown, unseen fear was keeping me stuck and living a life of mediocrity.
If you’re tired of living a mediocre life and letting fear keep you trapped, it’s time to stop hiding behind the when’s and then’s of life. (By Jennifer Slovinski, Beachbody Coach)
Start giving your ideas and dreams a chance. – In life, it’s rarely about getting a chance; it’s about taking a chance. You’ll never be 100% sure it will work, but you can always be 100% sure doing nothing won’t work. Most of the time you just have to go for it! And no matter how it turns out, it always ends up just the way it should be. Either you succeed or you learn something. It is win-win situation. – Jennifer Slovinski
You won’t change your life if you spend your days wishing and hoping. Your life will change if you TAKE ACTION and MAKE IT CHANGE. Do give your health a chance!
It is true that nothing can help you or hurt you as much as the thoughts you carry in your head. This is because your actions are usually inspired by your thoughts. FitWatch suggests that if you’re feeling discouraged about your workout routine because you aren’t making as much progress as you’d like. Rather than letting this be an excuse for not losing weight, you can talk yourself into a better attitude by reminding yourself that persistence will help you make more progress, that no one gets fit in just a few short days, and so on.
We get into a fitness regime with good intentions and a world of motivation, but our willpower can fail us sometimes. Over time we can lose motivation and need an extra push. So what does it really take to get – and stay – motivated to achieve a goal? Shannon Entin says that there is no one answer for everyone, but for her, it comes down to ACKNOWLEDGING that she needs to CHANGE A HABIT, then having the STRENGTH to change it. Don’t let the fear of failure prevent you from reaching your goals. If you know what you want then you go and you don’t stop till you reach it. Think of your goals and keep pushing. “Choose to take actions that keep you out of the status quo slump. Raise your standards for yourself, permanently. Force yourself to do something that makes you feel productive. Make your own motivation.” Be your own motivation! When you work on your dreams, you will create your best life possible. Don’t be afraid to make a mistake. Don’t let minor setbacks stop you from pushing ahead. Always move forward… one step at a time….
Remember that you are far to smart to be the only thing standing in your way, said Jennifer J. Freeman
It’s okay to give into carvings. Loosing weight and keeping it off means balance, not going without treats for the rest of your life.
As a matter of fact, if you know how to control your cravings, they aren’t such a bad thing. It’s more beneficial to your diet (and your overall sanity) to give into hunger cravings from time to time. A life without your favorite foods every now and again is no fun… Cravings are more satisfying when we indulge in them only occasionally. When you wait to eat something that you really savor, like a meal from your favorite restaurant or a homemade dessert, you’ll be much more motivated to carry on with your healthy diet. Think of cravings as a reward for a job well done. Don’t give into them all of the time. (3fatchicks.com)
Many people see exercise as boring – something that must be done. But there are many forms of movement whether it’s a walk in the park, hiking, playing basketball with your kids or zumba class, that brings you pleasure. Thinking back I can’t remember not laughing at least once during my workouts… Friday means weekend and weekends are about fun and doing something different. Do you like to dance? I see dancing as a calorie-burning fitness-party. It’s so much fun! Dancing is a fun way to lose weight, get toned and stay fit. A 150lb person can burn as much as 200 calories in just 30 minutes of aerobic dancing. But don’t see exercise only as a way to burn calories. Think of it as a means to boost your overall health and a way to spend some quality time with your friends and family.
Dear Readers, have a great Friday and party yourself into shape! 🙂
It is completely normal to have days when you don’t want to workout or have a need to have something sweet. Just don’t make it a habit. When you have thoughts like writing off the gym remind yourself WHY you begin to workout in a first place and how great you will feel afterwards. My friend hang a photo of Victoria’s Secret swimsuit on the refrigerator door, so every time she had carvings, the goodies inside was much easier to ignore. JJ Virgin said that the thing that gets her through the cake day is looking at her motivator photo and cementing the idea (again) of why she want to stick with the fitness regime. Remind yourself of your most important goal…vision boards are indeed great for this !
Cassey Ho says stay committed. Be true to yourself and your goals, whether it is reaching a new level of fitness, living a healthier life, or sculpting the body of your dreams.
I believe September is a good time to renew your fitness goals. Heather Long said, “You may not think that rebuilding your own physical self helps others, but consider for a moment that your fitness can inspire others to reach their own goals and it also puts you into better shape to help others as well whether it is raising money through marathons for charity or just helping to build or rebuild physically.
Finally, take a moment to enjoy the refreshing weather as the steamy south begins to cool down and the seasons begin to shift. Winter is coming and it’s time to harvest your summer plans and make new plans.”
Have a good jump into the new season! Renew, refresh and remember that this one step – choosing a goal and sticking to it – can change everything.
